It’s Back! Thank Goodness For The NFL

Like a long lost friend. Football is completely back now. Let the frenzy begin. What normally commences in roughly a 2 to 3 month period is now going to break down into about 10 days.  This is going to be fun. And it’s already started.

Santonio Holmes agreed to terms today.  This was the Jets number one target.  At least in regards to keeping their own players.  There are still rumors that they are after Nnamdi Asomugha, can you imagine Asomugha on one side and Darrel Revis on the other? Talk about scary.

And it looks like Donovan McNabb has landed in a new place. And shouldn’t he feel much better? Going from the hapless Redskins and the Shannanan situation to the Minnesota Vikings. A team that could compete for the playoffs and the NFC crown.  I will be rooting for him, thought he got a raw deal last year.

And in more QB moves, Matt Hasselbeck has landed in Tennessee.  This is probably a good move for them so that he can tutor number one draft pick Jake Locker.  And also gives them at least more of a chance to win this year.  Which also paved way for Tavaris Jackson to land in Seattle.  Whoa.  Is your head spinning yet? I told you it would be fast and furious.

Ok, back to football. Sorry, got sidetracked.

And where will Kevin Kolb or Kyle Orton end up? All the talk all summer is Kolb to Arizona, which makes sense. And now there are rumors that the Dolphins and Broncos are talking trade for Orton.  Truthfully I think that is a toss up, but I go with Orton based on experience alone. He actually played pretty well in Denver, but I understand their need to go young and roll the dice with Tim Tebow.

And that’s just QB’s. What about Plaxico Burress? Now it is being reported he is either head back to the Giants or Steelers.  I guess he didn’t really burn any bridges.  But does he really fit?

And looks like the Carolina Panthers are keeping DeAngelo Williams in the fold to the tune of $43 million.

Whew. I don’t know about you but I am worn out.  That’s all for now, but I will be posting more when it comes across.
